The artist-orchestrated meal by Kristin Wenzel in the framework of the closing event of Timisoara 2023 extended to the public the invitation to join a collective dinner and exhibition showing the results of her workshop Re(Collecting) Architecture, held in Timisoara and Elefsina this year.

Steaming from her ongoing interest in cooking and dinner parties as a form of art and social encounter, Kristin experimented with the replicas of architectural fragments collectively produced during the workshops in both cities, by transforming them into edible pieces.

Starting point of the workshop is her work Re-Collection (2018–ongoing), an ever-growing collection of fallen building ornaments, found mainly in Bucharest, but also in other cities in Romania. It is a research, an archive and an artistic instruction manual at the same time. By transforming it into a workshop, Wenzel develops an interdisciplinary perspective on architectural heritage through a collective, embodied experience of the place, memory, and culture, that maps out alternative perspectives on architecture and cultural participation.

The project is part of the National Cultural Programme "Timisoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded by the European Echoes programme, run by the Timisoara City Council Project Centre, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the Ministry of Culture budget. It is organized in partnership with the Municipality of Timișoara through the Project Centre.
